“Well, see, this NASA woman gave me a telescope, so I was doing some… telescoping,” and Josh is walking to his bedroom, he needs to turn off his alarm before he forgets, he barely uses it anyways, a combination of natural sleep rhythms and his body really not liking being woken up by loud jarring noises usually gets him up before it goes off, “and then that was really cool so I started thinking about space and how space is really cool and I guess I just forgot to go to sleep.” He’s getting a jolt of excitement again, so he digs his nails into his palm and bounces up on the balls of his feet once, then shakes it off.
“You… forgot.”
“Yeah.”
He can hear Toby sigh through the phone. “Alright. You can probably catch a half-hour of sleep now, so go… do that. You sure you’re fine? You sound a little out of breath.”
“Yeah. Yeah,” Josh says, flopping back onto his bed. “Neptune’s just really pretty.”
