Summary
"Panicin' won't do us any good, at any rate," Basilio reasons, and Will watches him- watches himself?- hesitate in stretching out a hand and placing it on his cheek.
It doesn't feel bad, but it is notably different. Years down the line and Will is used to the hot cup of a large rough-skinned palm that spans most of his face without effort- this is smooth, and small, and unobtrusive in its tepidness. It's how it must feel when he does it to Basilio, he supposes, since they are quite literally reversed right now.
Will reaches his own hand out, and sucks in a breath. Puppeteering Basilio's body is like trying to ride a bike after years of not having done so; the general concepts are all the same, broad muscle memory still applies, but it's shaky and uncertain and lacking in precision. He settles 'his' hand overtop of Basilio's against his face, covering the smaller one entirely. It's jarring, to have his eyes open and see himself.
(An accident at the newly rebuilt Mage's Academy switches Will and Basilio. Seeing through the others' eyes comes with its own moments of fun, but the ramifications have them growing steadily more concerned as the problem fails to go away.)
