Summary
And Buck’s there, face just inches from Eddie’s, forearm braced against Eddie’s sternum so that he feels it every time his ribs expand. It’s all heat and strength and that fizz below his skin that makes him feel like he might be losing his mind. They’re so close like this that for a second he actually thinks Buck might be about to kiss him.
Buck doesn’t say anything, just licks his lips, eyes trained on his mouth like he can’t meet his eye. Eddie waits a beat, then baits him, “Chain of command.”
or,
Eddie baits Buck into spanking him.

Summary
Heat blooms on Eddie’s cheeks, mortified that everything he thinks gets written so clearly on his face that Buck can read it in the span of a few seconds. Though, he guesses that’s part of why they work.
“It’s just– it’s messy, and it’ll take us longer–”“Eddie.” Buck grins, boyish.
He’s… he’s having fun. Eddie is having fun. There are no ‘shoulds’ here. No expectations that can’t be worked out.

Summary
It isn’t supposed to feel like this. Even after everything, his whole life, all the people who have left, the expanse of empty sheets in the morning a familiar sight—even after all that, Buck is still a romantic, deep down. He still thought if you found someone who stuck around for years, and you let them in and let them see the real you, and then they kissed you and took you to bed, then that was it, the happily ever after. At the very least they’d be there in the morning.
