Summary
Tensions grow in the Senate as potential adversaries of the Republic keep emerging following the attack on Naboo. In need to protect the security of the Republic, a few senators propose a solution: to offer the Galaxy’s most wanted slicer a pardon in exchange for their full-time collaboration.
Wanted for taking down many businesses and exposing public figures with pristine images as frauds, abusers or even criminals, not everyone on Coruscant agrees with bringing such a controversial figure in their midst.
Word of this agreement gets out, and a race starts in Coruscant’s underworld to get rid of the elusive slicer before they can sign the deal. To ensure their safety, the Senate offers to send them a Jedi to act as their personal bodyguard. Grandmaster Yoda chooses Obi-Wan Kenobi for the job, who is dealing with his own impasse regarding young Anakin Skywalker’s training.
Conflicting thoughts stockpiling, Obi-Wan eventually realises that things aren’t as black and white as he had expected. Initially disgusted by all the damage this person has caused, he finds that there is more to them than shocking headlines once he accidentally uncovers their identity.

Summary
Reader thought gifting Rex a wrist-chrono before a battle would be a nice gesture he would appreciate. Instead, he ends up avoiding the reader for the entirety of the trip back to Coruscant. And this is the story of how reader's dumb idea triggered a series of events that will end with them confessing their feelings for him. More or less.

So it should come as no surprise that Emma, a seemingly ordinary woman on the outside, decides to take matters into her own hands and save L from his cruel fate. But he wakes up in Los Angeles, after a very bumpy ride, and unable to return to the Kira investigation or life as he knew it. To top it off, Emma has a purpose of her own to fulfill, for which she needs the detective’s help... whether he wants to offer it or not.
On the outside — a tale of two weird kids that seem to finally get a shot at a normal life. At its core, however — a study of what makes a human being humane, and what it takes to piece oneself together after being pulled apart by people, circumstance and a lot of bad luck.
