Scott couldn’t decide if he was more or less mature than the rest of them, but whatever he was, he was different. Marked. It gave him the look of a decidedly soft target.

Summary
Mickey’s never seen Ian go down like that before.
Ian can take a punch, has had plenty of black eyes — hell, Mickey’s punched Ian plenty of times himself — and Ian should be getting up. He knows Ian should be alright, if not even more pissed off. But Ian doesn’t move. He collapsed like he was shot in the head.
Looking at the stocky guy who hit Ian, Mickey tries to figure out what happened when something drops out of the guy's hand: A piece of broken sidewalk, the tan concrete bleeding red. The guy bashed Ian’s head with a rock.
Mickey jumps to his feet. “Hey!”

After a confrontation gone bad, Mickey and the Gallaghers get Ian to the hospital.
And look, Mickey always knew that if the Gallaghers had a will they'd find a way, but being roped into their schemes himself wasn't something he'd planned on signing on for. All the Gallaghers need to know is Mickey's helping out because he's not pure fucking evil. They don't need to know Mickey was scared shitless when Ian got knocked unconscious, Jesus, he can barely admit that to himself. Once Mickey knows Ian's not dead and not dying, he's out of there.
Except he can't bring himself to leave.

He knew when Eddie was in middle school, friendless and angry and paranoid, when Wayne stumbled upon a stash of porno mags while he was looking for drugs.

It's Tuesday night. They should be watching Predator or Die Hard, sitting on their couch at opposite ends while Dennis pretends Mac's not staring at him out of the corners of his eyes, but they're not. Instead, Dennis is in the hospital chair next to Mac's bed, pretending to be his husband for reasons that he doesn't want to think about right now. He just wants Mac to wake up. Well, if he decides to wake up, that is. If Mac decides him and the gang are worth coming back to at all.
Dennis just wishes that things could go back to normal. Before Mac decided he loved Dennis and decided to shove it down his throat, before things got stiff and awkward and stuck between them. Then Mac wouldn't be in this goddamn hospital bed and none of this ever would have happened in the first place.
If only Dennis remembered to be careful what you wish for.
Set after season 14. No major character deaths.

Saul looks up and smiles when he sees Steven again and his hair is longer than it was three months ago, corkscrew curls lying against his collarbone where he’s hunched over his acoustic guitar, stripped shirtless under the late afternoon sun.
Steven grins back at him with his whole body. Helpless to do anything else, really, no matter how much he’d like Saul to think he’s cool.
