He’s braced, ready to pull back if someone is pointing a weapon in his direction, but that’s not what he finds. No, what he finds is much more bizarre than a splay-legged, low-level criminal with a semiautomatic.

Summary
Now that hunger isn’t clawing at his belly, he can more easily appreciate her luscious form as it hovers in his line of sight. He drinks in the way the flickering light of the tavern casts shadows across her breasts with every inhale and exhale, how the bodice of her dress lifts them up as if to cradle her chin.
He considers it to be one of his greatest failures that he doesn’t know what it feels like to bury his face between them – to fill his hands with their softness.

Part I (The Friends), Part II (The Strangers) and Part III (The Exes), are separate one-shots. Aside from all featuring a yearning Liv and El in this medieval universe, they're unrelated to each other.
