Ron Weasley has accepted three facts: he has an embarrassing crush on Viktor Krum, Viktor Krum is outrageously attractive, and Viktor Krum could not possibly fancy him back.
So when Viktor starts asking Ron to train together, spend weekends in Hogsmeade, and casually calls him pretty, Ron reaches the only logical conclusion—they're becoming really good friends. After all, Ron is convinced he's hopelessly pining after someone who'll never return his feelings.
Viktor, meanwhile, is convinced he's been courting Ron for months.

Shane jumps, no longer tired, and nearly knocks his head against Ilya’s. “From fucking me?”
“Shane, moya lyubov, no. Never. I will be on my deathbed still fucking you. I will die inside you.”
Shane’s nose crinkles. “Maybe we don’t make that a reality.”
“What are you saying? You will not want my old, dying dick? What kind of husband are you!”
“That’s not—“ Shane shakes his head. “Don’t distract me. What are you retiring from?”
“I fuck you so good, your brain no longer works?” Ilya chirps, gently rapping his knuckles against Shane’s head. “Hockey, Shane. I am retiring from hockey.”
Shane closes his eyes and drops his voice, “I’m not ready. Not yet.”
“I know, sweetheart. I am not asking you to retire with me. Never. You play for as long as you want, and I become sexiest WAG in history.”

Summary

Covers the first two years of their rookie seasons (which is mostly skipped over in the show/books). Canon divergent from the first hookup seen in HR s01ep01. Most things are from the show but the timeline is a mix of both; Hunter and Marleau are aged up per the show instead of as young as they are in the books. (Also, Shane and Ilya don't wait *two years*, they stick to the book timeline. IYKYK.)
