Jooyeon’s chest tightened, but this time it wasn’t panic. It was more like relief and terror were braided together.
“My friends think you’ll drag me down,” Jooyeon said, voice shaking. “They think you’re going to ruin me.”
Hyeongjun’s lips parted, then closed again. He looked away briefly, toward the wall with the dried blood and the lipstick lines, as if he couldn’t bear to look at Jooyeon while he spoke. “Maybe I will,” he said quietly.
