There is a tombstone that has a face that is far too much like his and a name and an epitaph of a person who once existed. Bianca Di Angelo, it reads, 1998 - 2016, crushed by a statue. Beloved daughter and sister. Loved and forever remembered.
Once upon a lifetime, another boy, with an unbroken umbrella and an impossibly kind heart sees a crying boy in the rain and he goes to him.
Or, Will finds Nico in a graveyard one day. He decides to keep visiting the next year. A sort of 3 + 1.

Techno slammed his fists against the transparent wall of his prison, trying his best to break it down. His captors backed up, whistling anxiously to each other.
He gave the barrier another loud crack, delightedly watching as they scrambled away in abject terror.
Nodding in satisfaction, he turned around to meet the eyes of two other prisoners that had been thrown into his cell.
He froze.
Right.
There were now aliens in his cell.
And he probably just scared the hell out of them.
Or: Humans are a dangerous race feared by all on an intergalactic scale. Techno, a human ex-soldier that was abducted by aliens 18 months ago, is biding his time in captivity.
This changes when two young aliens are sent into his cell to die.

The curtain of bloodied hair moves as Verin tries to shake his head. “The gods have a cruel sense of humour if this is their idea of ferrying souls across,” he rasps weakly.
“You’re not dead, you idiot,” Essek hisses out, even as relief washes through him at the sound of his brother’s voice.
Verin perks up at that. His head tilts to the side and one blue eye peeks at Essek from behind his loose hair.
“Essek? What in the Light…”
(Or: Essek tries to rescue his brother. He ends up meeting Deirta instead.)
