Summary
It was just cold enough that Dean could see his breath on the air. He exhaled around something tight and painful in his chest, another please, maybe, a word that felt a bit like gnawing on broken glass. Please what? he wondered, at an absolute loss. And Sam would get a kick out of this if he wasn’t bouncing off the walls in Bobby’s panic room. Dean Winchester, praying to whoever might listen.
“Dean.”
Of fucking course.
Castiel answers Dean's prayer at the end of "My Bloody Valentine."

Summary
Castiel stood and walked to the side of Dean’s bed simply because he wanted to. It was cause for concern, this business of wanting. He should exercise restraint. Caution. Instead, he raised his hand towards Dean’s cheek.
Castiel contemplates healing Dean after "On the Head of a Pin." Angel-typical reflections ensue.

Summary
The bathroom light is on, and Olu almost collapses with relief until he hears it — silence, stark and deafening. The apartment is dark save for the bathroom light. Olu doesn’t flick any others on. He makes his way to the bathroom by feel and memory, breathes deep as he walks in. There’s a rag in the sink tinged bright red at one corner, and a mouthguard air drying on a paper towel next to the toothbrushes. There’s a pack of cotton balls left open on the toilet bowl and some used ones in the bin, scattered like rose petals. He plucks two strips of boxing tape from the floor, crumples them up before tossing them away.
Olu goes on his own journey of reflection and self-discovery as his partner Jim prepares for one of the biggest fights of their career.

Summary
I (petrichorca/Pez) have been writing missing scene fics for OFMD. They're not deliberately connected, because I just write when I feel the urge and they're self-contained stories, but I've put them in canonical timeline order here in case it's interesting to read my missing scenes like that!
Just an FYI: if I've collaborated with someone on a missing scene and added the fic(s) to this collection (with their consent), they're included as a co-creator on the series.

Summary
With the promise to meet up again in the morning, Dean once again has to watch Cas leave to handle a separate case. If only he knew the words to ask Cas to stay. But he doesn't. Instead, he'll enjoy a little teasing banter and food stealing leaning against Baby's hood before Cas leaves, and then he'll kiss Cas goodbye and drive away to meet up with Sam and.... wait, wait, wait a second. Oh God. Did he just kiss his best friend goodbye?

Summary
After spending two years researching a spell to rip Castiel from the Empty, Dean finally finds a way--only, Castiel won't stay awake for more than minutes at a time, a consequence of his Grace attempting to readjust. Desperate to get Castiel out of bed, Dean comes up with a plan. Deep in the Appalachians is a cabin, and he intends to take Castiel there, just to rest.
Rest, it turns out, isn't so hard to find.

Summary
“Sam, you gotta hear about this ghost story I found the other day,” Susanne says over the speakerphone, just as loud as she has been for the last half hour.
For the most part, Castiel ignores her—or tries—and concentrates on the beads dangling from between his fingers, centerpiece pressed to his forehead. Praying doesn’t work, but some mornings, when the coffee doesn’t get him going and the walls feel more like a prison than a home, he sits at the library table and whispers empty words into the crucifix, like Jesus can ease the festering ache in his chest.
He can’t—no one else can either.

Summary
"Most times when somebody sees their husband in a fucking thong shop they assume he’s cheating on them.”
Castiel blinks. “But… You’re not cheating on me…”
“I know I’m not cheating on you.”
“Which is why I assumed you were buying clothes for Eileen.”
Dean swears under his breath and pinches the bridge of his nose. “Look- Let’s just- Let’s forget this even happened, okay?” Even though it’s phrased as a question, Castiel understands it as closer to the command that it actually is.
But Castiel doesn’t want to forget this happened. Something is awkward and lingering in the air between them, in the way that Dean shifts from foot to foot and won’t meet Castiel’s eyes. And if Dean wasn’t shopping for Eileen, and he wasn’t shopping for another woman… The options for who was being shopped for are dwindling by the second.
Dean’s face is still pink. Castiel’s heart squeezes tight and forces itself up into his sternum.
“You were… shopping for yourself,” he says lowly.
