“So, what are you looking for in a man?” Ravi asked him then.
“I don’t know, I haven’t really thought about it,” he said thinking about it. “Well, he has to be good with Chris, obviously. And kind. I don’t know.”
“That’s literally the bare minimum,” Ravi accused him.

Summary
“I am taking it easy,” Buck argues, unimpressed. “I’m literally in bed.”
“And I’m expecting you to stay there,” Eddie warns, pointing a cautionary finger.
“Only if you're joining me,” Buck bargains, impatiently patting the mattress next to him.
“I've heard that skin-to-skin contact is really good for the brain, makes it release all the feel good chemicals and regulates stress and stuff.”Eddie narrows his eyes, considering. “Sounds like an excuse to get me shirtless.”

Summary
“Mr Wayne, may I ask about something personal?”
“Mr Kent,” the man chuckled, “mixing business with personal matters?”
“What? No! I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean—“
“I was only joking, Kent. Of course you can ask. Anything you’d like.”
Clark found himself staring into his gray eyes as he tried to calm his nerves.
“Then tell me…” he began carefully, “why did you decide to buy a newspaper company? Especially one in Metropolis?”
Wayne tilted his head slightly, pretending to think seriously.
“The Daily Planet is an excellent investment—and not only financially. Every newspaper in Gotham is obsessed with chasing sensational headlines. They don’t care whether what they publish is actually true. I’ve read your articles,” he paused to take a sip of his Coke, “and I liked them. Your employees take their work seriously. But that’s not the only reason.”
“Then what’s the other one?” The reporter asked, before he could stop himself.
“There’s someone I’d like to have an excuse to see more often in Metropolis.”
Wayne slowly lifted his eyes to meet Clark’s.
Clark absolutely couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Summary
“You can have the lasagna I saved for you yesterday,” Buck says pointedly as he walks down the hallway.
Eddie trails after him, close on his heels. “Baby, Johnson’s wife had an ultrasound. I was only gonna cover him for a couple hours but I got stuck on that call.”
Buck stops in the doorway of the kitchen and turns around to face him. “What if I had an ultrasound?”
“But you didn’t,” Eddie says stupidly.
“That’s what the ‘what if’ is for.”
“If you had an ultrasound and I had a shift, I would've gotten someone to cover for me.”
“Sure you would've.”

Summary
Everyone was perfectly polite to him. They greeted him at the start of the shift and wished him a good 48 off when he left the station, they didn't give him dirty looks at the table and communicated about work. But Buck couldn't remember the last time someone asked him how his weekend was, involved him in a joke, or casually touched him. He couldn't remember the last time anyone touched him on purpose at all. Everyone kept a very safe distance from Buck. He wondered if they were scared he would sue them if they made a wrong move near him.

Months after the lawsuit Buck is still on the outs with the 118. He is lonely and touch-starved. After a minor injury at work Buck goes home alone, spiralling about his life and how he misses his family. Then Eddie shows up at his door to talk.Bookmarked by fleurlog
