Karl had looked to his side at the boy he’d pulled up next to, planted a foot on the ground to stabilize himself and the bike he straddled. They locked eyes across the lane, sat a little too close together with a mutual lack of helmets. It drew Karl just a touch closer to the stranger in the figurative sense, like an agreement that went unknown between themselves.
Maybe he was a little bit stupid, like Karl. A little bit impulsive and a little bit too driven by cute boys on hot motorcycles.
“Wanna race?”
In a city of eternal darkness, Karl finds the greatest thrill in high-speed racing. Maybe he'll find a thrill in boys who feel like flame, too.

And it’s cold enough to feel like the middle of the night, if he faced reality and opened his eyes it’d probably be dark. Some weird dream that wasn’t even dirty and his hips are still pressing forward. And George seems to be the closest thing for him to grind against. Maybe if he squeezes his eyes shut hard enough he can fall back asleep and forget about it all.
George is so comfy against him, warm and sleepy tucked under his arm. And it seems they’d been spooning or something of the sort. And he sighs, still hard between them but awake enough to stop. But George hasn’t moved away, seeming to not mind the stiffness against his lower back.
“‘m sorry,” Dream moves to tuck his arm tighter around him, feeling the coldness of a chain against the corner of his mouth, “Didn’t mean to.”

Sapnap bites his cheek. “It’s raining.”
“I’m glad I have you around, Einstein,” Karl quips back, barely flinching when Sapnap throws another piece of gravel at him, and the way he smiles is brighter than the sun.(Sapnap keeps getting a weird feeling in chest with Karl, and he doesn't know why.
It becomes more clear when they're caught in the rain together.)
