Summary
When they first move to Eden, it isn't called that yet. That comes later, when a dying race starts filling the void with superstition. For now, Mars station is bright, new and full of life. Only the fact that he complained about it for months stops him from loving it openly, the way his parents do.
Later, he is glad to have watched the quiet rapture happen, one of the only witnesses. If he had not seen the red glow of Mars snapping into void before his own eyes, he might have refused to believe it for the rest of his life.
