Pierce arrives first, and Lucifer can only watch through a window as Pierce proposes and Chloe accepts.
Unless ... Lucifer got there first? And had a chance to say a few important things before the other man barged in?

Summary
Don't read if you haven't watched Season 4; this story picks up where the finale left off. This is my take on how the characters will deal with the seemingly-impossible-star-crossed-lovers-drama, with many pieces of religious lore, gratuitous sex, detective crime fighting, and angst mixed in. It will take our unlikely lovers a little while to navigate the mess, but they'll figure it out. I hate when we never get the happy ending we yearn for, so my mission is to make it happen. I warn you though - I created cases purposely for the content and effect each had, but these touch on some very delicate issues. If you are affected by content relating to child abuse, molestation, drugs, or domestic abuse, please know that these are present. I've never had to write a trigger warning before, so I hope I made it clear enough to not unwittingly upset anyone.

"Michael," the man answered, in response to the unspoken question. "And yes, he should."
Chloe took out her notepad. "And the message?"
There was a long moment when Michael didn't speak. He just blinked twice. It was a languid gesture, bird-like, and the otherwise only movement made as he stood in an almost unnatural stillness. He was looking at her with an acute intensity, but for some reason it didn't really seem he was seeing her at all.
Then, abruptly, he closed his eyes.
"Tell him —" he paused. The eyes flicked open, dark and quiet, and for some abstract reason, despite his expression not having changed at all, very tired. "Tell him to be wary of Gabriel for me."
He didn't offer anything else. Chloe's pen hovered over her notepad, suddenly a hundred percent sure that this wasn't a date-call for one of Lucifer's favours.
(Michael is in Los Angelos trying to stop a minor apocalypse; Gabriel is in town trying to kickstart a major one. Eons since Lucifer has last seen either of the twins, and it seems more's changed than stayed the same.)
