Summary
Eddie Diaz was not a devout man but the image that ran laps through his brain, Buck on his knees, head bowed low and his beautiful, white wings draped around him, made him believe that maybe divinity could be something other than pain and forced constraints.
It made him believe that Buck, blessed by the sky itself, had been placed in his lap. A nudge and a whisper in his ear, you were not made broken. If purity—if sanctity can choose Buck, who had always chosen Eddie, then Eddie may just learn devotion.

Summary
Buck side stepped Eddie and slowly corralled him back to the open door, throwing his frame around a little, “Tell them I’m sorry I missed it. I’m just gonna sleep it off.”
Eddie eyed him curiously, blinking as they ended up at the door, “Alright, I guess. If you’re still feeling sick, me and Chris can come over after, just hang out.”
If Buck could feel any more sick with himself, he would. He felt the bile rise up in his throat before he quickly swallowed it down, letting it sit inside his stomach while it inevitably burned him alive. Buck forced a half smile onto his face and nodded, ushering Eddie out the door.

Summary
Eddie ran a hand through his hair, pushing it out of his face as he spoke, “You’ll heal and the scar won’t be too bad. I’d like to ideally keep you for the next couple of days to monitor for infection.”
Kinsey barked a laugh as Buckley glared at him, “Face it Evan, you’re out of commission now.”
“Fat fucking chance. You’ve got me for a day, Doc, then I’m back out with the team.” Evan grumbled.

Summary
He looked around as the power line sparked and got lower towards the ground, trying to make his way to the door. Buck snapped his head toward Eddie once the power line flared, his eyes widening.
The electricity crackled through the air in an outward motion and charged the air around them. Some of that said electricity flying towards where Eddie was crouched. Buck had a split second to decide before that electricity fried the new recruit. He flung his magic out in a shout.

Summary
Eddie turned to Taylor and raised a brow, curiosity flitting across his face before promptly vanishing. “So I’m a babysitter with a gun?”
Oh he’s got jokes. Great. Buck scoffed internally, his eyes narrowed at the two. He was twenty-eight and this was utterly ridiculous.

“Nothing. No one. Just– letting out some frustrations.”
“Uh huh,” Hen murmurs. “and do these frustrations involve Buck?”
Eddie pauses his movements and turns to face Hen, trying to scrub the guilty look off of his face. “No. No, why would you think that?”
Hen snorts, raising an eyebrow at him as she waits for him to explain himself. It was obvious to her what was going on but, maybe he needs more time to realize it.

Summary
Buck’s heartbreak flooded his face, the regret showing just how truly wrong he was. “That team is my family, Eddie. You of all people should know what that’s like!”
“No, Buck. We were your family.” The bomb detonates.
Eddie watched Buck for several beats before turning on his heel and walking into the kitchen, leaving Buck to burn in the actions of his man made fire. The one thing you can never save someone from is themself. Sometimes there were things that even Eddie couldn’t fix about Buck, and this skewed image, the foundation of his partner, just might be one of them.

Summary
“You okay, Eds?” Buck asked and stood by his side, his hand on Eddie’s shoulder comfortingly.
Eddie didn’t raise his head for a long few moments, angrily scrubbing at his face when he did so. “Yeah, I’m fine.” He said gruffly.
Buck didn’t believe him for a second but he wasn’t one to push when he knew that Eddie would tell him in time. Eddie usually kept things until he could work them out, then told Buck so they could work through it together. That’s what they always did, worked together. It happened for seven years before they’d even gotten together. Through everything they were always BuckandEddie, partners, best friends, lovers, and now husbands.

Summary
“You’re all done.” He said and put the rest of the supplies away, zipping up the medical pack. If Eddie took his time packing up and standing, then that was between him and the flush on his face.
Buck clambered off of the floor rather ungracefully, his long limbs more than getting in the way in the tiny area behind the bar. He rubbed the back of his neck with a wince and looked around at the crowd in the small restaurant. “Well I don’t think I’m keeping this job.” He mumbled.
