Summary
The early stages of education in Fire Nation children consisted of strict discipline, a strong aversion to casualness, and an inherent need to prove oneself. The children did not know how to have fun and feel free thus bred children who did not show compassion for others or only ever cared for their own interests. There are never any good eggs that hatch from the academy what with their stagnant and traditional views of power and influence.
However, such cannot be said for y/n of the Lee family. Cousin of Ty Lee, a branch family member adopted into the main Lee family for her intellect and bending skills. She was an exemplary Fire Nation child, a model that every Fire Nation parent would kill to have. Respectful to elders, academically smart, and learned Lightning-bending at a very young age, even earlier than Azula. She could not make simple fire however, it was an easy thing to overlook when looking at her mastery of the Lightning arts.
She did not strive for power, she did not strive for anything, she only did, and so she was; that was her. Naturally, y/n integrated into the circle of Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee. Becoming much closer to Azula than anyone ever was.
