Summary
He wondered if his father had made a deal with the devil before he was born. Immeasurable success, a place reserved for him in the history books, a lifetime of messianic comparison. These deals, however, always came with their analogous downside.
***
An anthology of experiences and relationships at different stages of a life. An analysis of trauma and how it weaves itself into the fibres of identity, and becomes ontologically inseverable.

Summary
Leo didn't know where the organic tissue ended and the machinery began. When squeezed his eyes closed hard enough and focused on the pulsing cybernetic implant at the back of his thigh, he could almost hear it working; his own divine chorus, but instead of singing, it whirred. Maybe Pep was right, maybe there was something angelic about it after all.

Summary
On the outside, Leo and Cristiano were the perfect storybook romance. Photos of a happy family of four, the son Kun had once called his own clutching his beloved ‘Pai’s’ Golden Boot, plagued the covers of magazines across the country.
Kun was certain he knew better. Perhaps it was a pettiness typical for all scorned lovers, perhaps it was fatherly protectiveness, perhaps it was Cristiano’s extraordinarily punchable face. Whatever it was, he couldn’t help but feel that he needed to take this facade of domestic bliss with a grain of salt.

Now, before the UCL final, the two get into an argument, and this is the last thing Pep wants to be dealing with.

"Yeah, perhaps it wasn’t all over. Now he was a little older, a little wiser. Perhaps they could make it work somehow. He wasn’t going to leave it to chance this time. Even if he failed, even if his career faded into obscurity, forgotten amidst him chasing Leo all over, then it would be okay, because he was willing to lose it all. So long as he had him."

Summary
‘Look, you know he can be a bit… I don’t know. It’s not easy for him, not like for us. Please, Sergio, I wouldn’t be asking if I didn’t think it was serious.’
‘What does it even matter, he’ll be out of here in a couple of months anyways, right?’
‘Please. Just this once.’

Summary
Pep never thought of himself as a survivor before. Not in the classic sense — the hero with the golden smile, the unsurmountable wall of a body, the unbreakable spirit, laughing in the face of danger and adversity.
His story was one of survival, however. Survival at its most pathetic, awful, primal. Survival at its most human.
This is the way the world ends: Not with a bang, but with a whimper.
Loosely based on The Last of Us and other media concerned with human interaction during the end times.

Summary
Retirement had been treating Cristiano unexpectedly well. Just him, Leo, and Junior in a beautiful home, away from all the maddening chaos of football and public life. It was almost perfect, and the Portuguese could barely believe his luck.
But there was that stupid anger running under his skin, crawling inside his veins like a million bugs trying to dig tunnels out.
