At this, the emo My Little Pony cosplayer's ear flicks, as if he's irritated. "And you're a whole idiot. What's your point?"
A story of every PJO book out there centered around Bakugou, with Midoriya forced to tag along because he doesn't have a ride home. Carpooling alongside the roadtrip around the foreign country of America are under-qualified babysitters Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, and Kirishima.
Along the way they accidentally befriend more people reeking of daddy-issues who have a capable resolve against Bakugou's bullshit attitude, because nothing like the pressure of life-threatening, saving-the-world-and-bakugou's-mom scenarios that really creates bonds.
aka: i throw todoroki and bakugou in foreign country, and start a betting pool amongst the rest of the main cast as to which one of them will commit a war crime first.
(you DEFINITELY don't have to read PJO to get the gist of this. bc i truly decided that canon will only exist in my short term memory, and that canon will only limit my potential stupidity).

Summary
The kidnapping and murder of two UA students upends hero society overnight, shattering nearly a decade of peace.
Dynamight joins the commission investigation under Hawks to (quietly) surveil the staff at the principal's request, under the guise of a part-time teaching position. Katsuki accepts to honor his alma mater, definitely not because imagining that damn nerd isolating himself with guilt makes his chest feel like he just got out of surgery again.
The hastily rebuilt dorms welcome him back, this time to the teacher’s floor, and Izuku is too close again, just like when they were kids. He still sucks the air out of a room, is still magnetic even in his grief, even if this Izuku who lives to teach and not to save is someone Katsuki can’t fucking figure out how to talk to anymore.
But Katsuki is a problem solver. He can work on that, and he can find this sick bastard and stop him from killing again—as soon as he figures out why Izuku is disappearing through his goddamn window every night.

Katsuki grits his teeth. “Bullshit. You’ve been a danger to everyone since the moment you got One For All. Why does it matter now?”
Izuku hates this. He hates Katsuki for not understanding. Katsuki didn’t see how Shigaraki’s spikes sprayed his blood into the sky, how he was a few lucky inches away from certain death. Izuku sees it every time he closes his eyes. He sees it every time he tries to get a few hours of sleep in these shitty rundown apartments.
“Because people will die, Kacchan! I can’t risk that! Shigaraki and All For One are stronger than ever. Nothing is worth putting innocent lives in danger. I don’t care what I have to do. I’ll stay in hiding for as long as it takes.”
Or, during the Vigilante Deku arc, Katsuki finds Izuku on his own, instead of with the whole class. Arguments and confessions ensue as Katsuki tries to convince Izuku to come back to UA.

It didn’t give. No shock there. He tried again. Only a slight improvement. On the third tug, it finally came loose. The force had him stumbling backwards, bag clutched to his chest. He fell right into another camper, nearly knocking them off their feet.
He looked up from where he lay on the ground, rubbing his head and smiling sheepishly, ready to give a dozen apologies in the span of ten seconds. The camper turned to face him. He looked down, anger filling his bright, crimson eyes. He stared down at Izuku with disdain. A look of surprise crossed his face.
Then, to Izuku’s utter horror, he spoke. Just seven simple words, in a terrifyingly familiar voice.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
