    This is a simple prompt that has far outgrown my initial plans.

    Thomas Bennet has a near deadly accident shortly before the birth of his youngest child that changes the trajectory of the Bennet's social life, his marriage, and the lives of his daughters forever. With the support of his wider family he does his best to carve out a path for his children better than the one he walked.

    Nearly 14 years later, a visit from Thomas' closest friend, accompanied by his family, begins to change his perspective. But just as soon as he begins to gain hope for the futures for his children, new threats hover just out of his sight.

    Zuko can't believe this is happening. Surely the universe is testing him. He's been in love with Katara since he was a teenager. Now, she's shown up to his home, seeking a place to stay post-breakup. Were this a drama, Zuko would bring her to his favorite courtyard and say, Forget about the Avatar, marry me instead. And she'd agree and fall into his arms and he'd kiss her senseless and finally learn the taste of her mouth. They'd have beautiful, blue-eyed children that Zuko would never be an asshole to, and live happily ever after.

    However, that would probably cause a diplomatic incident. Also, he doubts she returns his feelings.

    So there's that.
