Summary
What if Carina never left Maya's side? What if Maya had Carina's full support to recover from her physical and mental injuries? That's my much more dramatic approach to Maya's mental breakdown. Contains descriptions of suicidal thoughts, disordered eating behavior, panic attacks and therapy sessions, but overall it's a story of a woman fighting her demons and having the support of the love of her life throughout it.
Includes my take on Carina's backstory and memories of both traumatic childhoods.

Maria jumps out of her skin and spins around to see an uncharacteristically stoic Carol standing much too far away from her. Carol leans back a little at her reaction, blinking.
