“Po’r thing!” Benvolio quickly ran to the little cat, letting it smell his fingers to try and gain its trust.
“Bid not me, thee pity such beasts too, Benvolio?” Mercutio rolled his eyes. “Let it be, it belike hast the plague.”
“T's just thirsty.” Benvolio gently lifted the little dirty cat, carefully placing it in his arms like a mother would do with her newborn child. “Look, t’s harmless.”[Or just Benvolio being a Disney princess, he loves animals, animals love him and Mercutio is just so in love he's embarassing. Inspired by this quote by Mercutio talking about Benvolio in act 3 scene 1: "Thou hast quarreled with a man for coughing in the street because he hath wakened thy dog that hath lain asleep in the sun."
