Summary
Trinity Santos is very good at compartmentalizing. She has to be, it’s how she survives the ER, the memories, and everything she’s never said out loud. Then a fourteen-year-old girl comes in, beaten and broken for something she cannot control, and Trinity stays.
What starts as a routine check-in turns into something far more personal, as Trinity finds herself telling the kind of story she’s spent years burying.
Because this time, someone needs to hear it. And somewhere down the hall, Yolanda Garcia hears just enough to realize there’s a whole part of the woman she loves she’s never been allowed to see.

Summary
“Are you jerking off in there?” Santos calls from the living room. “No judgement if you are - explore your budding body all you like, bud, but could you keep it down? Mommy’s trying to watch her shows.”
“No,” Dennis calls back sulkily, lowering his hands from his face, scowling at his bed. Nothing wrong with the bed - just what is laid out on top of it.
‘What’ being his very limited, definitely not date-friendly wardrobe.
OR:
Dennis and Michael go on a proper date. Dennis struggles with family, his past and medical records. Michael struggles to understand and with a connection of his own.
And Santos just struggles.Series

Summary
“Look… I’m offering,” Santos doubles down. “I can drive you home. It’s really not a big deal. No problema.”
That earns a breathless, barely-there laugh from Garcia for some reason, and after a visible deep breath in and out she shifts onto her back to look at Santos, and her cheeks are wet.
“Shit,” Santos mutters,”how long have you been stuck in here?”
“Not long enough, apparently.” Garcia hesitates again before wincing through a wave of pain. “It’ll pass. I’ll be fine.”
But Santos just gives her a look. “Seriously, what's the point of lying to me when you could just let me help?”
Garcia sort of rolls her eyes, but they’re bloodshot and too glassy and the next blink releases a tear that she quickly swipes away.
(They haven't spoken since the Langdon incident, and now Garcia's having a migraine attack, and it turns out they didn't completely destroy whatever This is.)

Summary
“Oh my god,” Dennis swivels in his seat to face her. “You’re like that one song.”
She blinks at him. “What?”
“You know, that one Lucy Dacus song. The one where she goes like, "you've got a nine to five, so I’ll take the night shift”.” He croons the lyrics in a warbly tune.
Trinity sort of hates how cheeks flush red at the realization that that’s sort of what she’s doing. “Shut the fuck up, Huckleberry.”
or
Trinity starts taking shifts at night – if only to avoid the one person she’s desperately tried to forget after a month of not talking. Her absence doesn’t go unnoticed by Yolanda.
(or, alternatively: trinity, yolanda, and how they probably shouldn't be working out their feelings at two in the morning).
