Summary
He forgot about- that.
Maybe it's all the previous fights that taught Sam to just leave the body there to disappear soon after. Maybe he just wanted to focus on happier thoughts. But the fact remains — Vana is still here, right where he left him.
The pool of blood would be nauseating to see under different circumstances. 'You did it. You did it.' But it's not Sam's fault. And it's not like the guy was actually alive to begin with.

Neil is back to the world of living. And both he and Sam have a lot of conflicting feelings about that. -

“What gives you the right-?” the words echo in his mind. Odysseus wishes he had stopped and given the cyclops something to remember them by. Perhaps taking Polyphemus' arm – even though this probably won’t amount to the same blinding pain he feels.
He glances back at Polites and realizes it wouldn't have mattered. A single warrior can kill dozens in a battle, yet even gods rarely bring a single soul back to life. Odysseus is just a soldier, so he begs Polites to hold on.

Summary
Asking himself these questions feels idiotic. He is neither some clueless kid, nor was he doing it for the hell of it, so does it matter how it felt?
It wasn't even bad. It just- She pouted and pushed until she got exactly what she wanted. He supposed it was the point — to get the experience you want. Hardly something to be upset about.
...She would like to think of herself as a good person but Sylvia knows perfectly well that it's not a sentiment compatible with her job — the best she can hope for is to pledge her sins to a good enough cause.
She isn't a good person but she allows herself — scandalously, selfishly — to care a little.

Summary
Yor's proposition is innocent, almost childish: 'I won't look'. And yet it's that innocence that makes him trust the offer.
Tears roll silently, hot and heavy. And, if he can remain quiet, then there will be no proof- she doesn't have to know. Except his breath hitches and comes back as a stuttering sob. Twilight shifts — his back to Yor's now — not that it helps to conceal his distress.
"It's okay," she reassures.
It isn't. It really isn't.

“Oh. I see.” The corner of his mouth twitches up in a failed attempt to smile. “I’m fine. But thank you.”
“Your definition of ‘fine’ would interest some scholars.” Odysseus catches his hand again, this time trapping it between his two. To the cold skin, they feel like fire. “Enlighten me: why would one avoid the comfort of his own bed and blankets in favor of slowly freezing outside?”

Summary
Odysseus stops and lets them both catch their breath. After a moment they continue to hobble forward – deeper into the dark undergrowth – and he can’t take the silence anymore:
“At least you are not as ridiculously tall as Eurylochus. I have no idea what I would do with him,” he whispers hoping Polites would take the bait.
***
This was supposed to be purely self-indulgent "Odysseus takes care of injured Polites" but then the characters took over and proceeded to have an existential crisis. Good thing they can ground each other.Dedicated to the wicked woman who sent me "a cool animatic to check out". You know what you did

Len knows the unspoken question: “Will they decommission him? Will YOU decommission him?” It hurts to know that his own vode can’t trust him. Not with the image of a medic that the longnecks instilled in them.
***
I like the trope "everyone tries to escape med-bay and medics need to drag them back" but a) shouldn't they know better? b) poor medics. So Len is the new CMO of 212th and he has a huge problem on his hands....
