“What do I do then?”
“There’s only so much you can do.”

Summary
As Crown Princess of Piltover, diplomatic voyages to other nations are a normal part of Caitlyn's life. She is rarely alone and never far from her core group of elite guards who are tasked with keeping her safe.
As a newly-knighted member of the princess' Queensguard, Vi may be less comfortable with long voyages at sea but her duty is one she believes in. The Piltovan royal family has plenty of enemies and Vi is under no illusions of how closely Zaun's fate is tied to its sister nation; if anything were to happen to her charge, the consequences would be far-reaching.
An attempt on Caitlyn's life puts everything Vi has learned to the test. Alone and unprepared, they must return Caitlyn home safely or Piltover loses its sole heir. It's up to Vi to ensure she survives the long journey, and it won't be easy with the would-be assassins still at large.
Of course, neither of them considers the other challenge they face: maintaining the strict boundaries of Princess and Sworn Knight as they share more than just the road ahead and their nightly campfires...

Summary
“Well, guess that’s it.” Vi had the world’s dopiest of smiles, as butterflies made a home for themselves in her stomach. “We’re… actually having a baby.”
“I suppose we are…” Caitlyn tested the placement of her left hand to her abdomen again, feeling both mystified and a bit scared. “What do we do?” She asked suddenly.
Vi pursed her lips and exhaled with a shake of her head. “No idea.” Vi followed her gaze and smiled, those butterflies seeming to multiply as she asked such a simple question. “You still wanna do this?”
Smiling, Caitlyn nodded as she hummed. “Yep. And you?” She asked, her smile fading for only a moment.
Vi grinned widely as she gave a quick nod. This was all she ever wanted. “Already got the due date memorized, Cupcake.”

”I don't think soulmates are about perfection or completing each other. It's not about finding your ’better half.’ I mean, shouldn't you be whole and complete before finding someone who deserves you?”
Asami glanced at Korra and raised a brow. “So, it's still about choice, then? I thought the spirits chose for us.”
“It’s about recognition and I think the spirits nudge us,” Korra replied. “The stars mark the places where we’ve already met our soulmates–somewhere, sometime, in a different life. We just find our way back and the spirits help us recognize that bond.”
Asami’s gaze lingered on Korra a little longer, her expression unreadable. “You actually believe that?”
“I do,” Korra said without missing a beat.
Asami looked back up at the sky. “Then I hope the stars or the spirits know what they're doing,” she looked back at Korra with a small smile, “for your sake.”
Korra’s bottom lip was trapped between her teeth from holding herself back. Until said lip tugged up, its confines no longer able to contain the grin from spreading across her face. “They brought me here, didn't they?”
