The air slips out of Niragi’s lungs as he whirls around to stare at the mob of people. Someone knows. Someone knows him from his past life of baseballs hurled his way and insults flung like stones.
“Are you okay?” Tatta asks, clearly alarmed by his sudden change in demeanor.
“No. No, no, no,” Niragi hisses, because the fact that someone knows means he’s not safe anymore, not safe in this skin he’s grown far too comfortable in.

Summary
“I just don’t understand,” Arisu says, looking passively at anything except for Chishiya, before his eyes settle in a soft way onto the doctor’s face. “Did I do something? What did I do? Just tell me what it is that I did wrong, and I’ll fix it. I swear.”
Chishiya swallows, malice aimed at himself boiling up because of Arisu’s pleading tone. How does he tell him that this is the problem? That Arisu is too good for him.

Modern-AU Chirisu where Arisu and Chishiya need to sit down and talk about their feelings but they’re severely allergic to that apparently. Eventually, they talk.

Summary
The first instinct is to feel betrayal, like she’d shown on the hill, but she doesn’t know if that’s fair.
Niragi and Chishiya had helped them so much during their time at the Beach, in their own distinct ways. The night falls, but Usagi can’t stop tossing and turning, to the point where she feels sick after a restless sleep the next morning.
All she wants is closure, but where will she get any of that?

“You two… are so fucking stupid,” Karube snickers, his words punctured by laughs.

Summary
“You should’ve left her,” Niragi sighs, but he can’t be mad. Tatta’s the type of person to try and help others. “Don’t get into a fight you can’t win.”
“But I couldn’t do that!” Tatta protests, placing a hand on his chest. “It just feels… wrong.”
Niragi wants to tell Tatta that this is just how life goes here. That’s the food chain. There’s nothing he can do to save the weak from getting preyed on, nothing he can do besides try to stay out of it himself.
But the look on Tatta’s face won’t let the words escape Niragi’s mouth. So instead, he sighs, and puts up his fists.
“Okay. Let me teach you how to box.”

Tatta and Niragi have made a habit of having rooftop meetings occasionally, just for the fun of it. Tatta is late to one, and Niragi finds him defending a young girl. Somehow, it ends with Niragi teaching Tatta how to box.

We’re all going to find or make little gifts for the two of them. Usagi, Tatta, and I are going to get Ann gifts; you, Niragi, and Heiya are going to get ones for Kuina. It doesn’t have to be anything big.”
“Okay,” Chishiya replies slowly. They’re lucky he’s not working. “I can do that.” I think.
