Summary
Much to his chagrin, Saiki has found himself the object of affection for the prettiest girl in the school. He’s tried almost everything to get Teruhashi to lose interest in him without hurting her feelings (and consequently sending her fan club after him… and potentially losing his friend).
Fortunately, the school’s rumor mill offers the perfect solution: reject her by letting everyone know he doesn't like girls. Unfortunately, it involves fake-dating one Toritsuka Reita, aka the only person Saiki trusts to not fall for him, for this plan to work. Good grief.

“What's up?” I ask again, with dwindling interest, until I suddenly remember something I read the other day. Ominous tags. Bad ending. Merry bad ending. Fuck. I grab his shoulders. He startles, shaken out of his protagonist's tumultuous inner monologue. Miiko slips out of my lap and meows plaintively at the both of us from the other side of the couch. My heart shatters. I somehow manage to resist dropping everything to hug the cat. This disturbs Ayato even more.
“Sorry, one moment, Miiko. Ayato, are you okay? You're not getting bullied? None of your friends are having any potentially life threatening issues of the mental or physical nature? You don’t have any life threatening disease or-”

Summary
Luffy cries because the sea didn’t hold him, and wishes for the first and last time that he hadn’t eaten the fruit. The wind kicks up when he says it, and Shanks tightens his hold on Luffy as the wind begins to howl. It sounds like a plea, like a mother begging and screaming and wailing, and Luffy squeezes his eyes shut and presses his face into Shanks’ chest, and Shanks’ heart sounds like drums, and the drums sound like the roar of the Sun, and the roar of the Sun sounds like freedom, and Luffy is scared.
He cries because he ate the fruit. He misses swimming and he’s scared of drowning and, for the first time in Luffy’s life, he’s not sure. Shanks looks frightened as he wails with the wind, realizing the gravity of the deal he made, the deal he didn’t know he was making.
