Summary
1955 was curling in on itself, desiccating like a pillbug. Summer had passed. Autumn was well underway, leaves browning and San Francisco fog creeping in denser all the time, when he’d got the call. Daniel Pierce, more perplexed than worried, asking if he’d spoken with Hawkeye lately, and if he had, did he know anything about—and BJ had asked him to repeat himself three times—about ghosts?
///
Or: In October of 1955, Hawkeye and BJ reunite to search for the supernatural, among other intangibilities.
///
Alternately: Everything dies more brilliantly in Maine.

Summary
BJ startles, feels his stomach flip. It was incongruous to his surroundings, that voice. It was meant for long nights on tired feet, toasting a sing-song tribute over lighter fuel gin. It had been left behind on a helipad in Korea.
He turns on his heels feeling slightly like Orpheus, but Hawkeye doesn’t disappear under BJ’s gaze. He moves on instinct, pulling him into a hug because the only thought coming up is- HawkeyeHawkeyeHawkeye.
Or a chance encounter leads to a road trip to Maine and a reassessment of past feelings

Summary
“He’s gotten into his head that he needs to take me on vacation. And he’s planning on sticking around until I agree to go.”
“So are you going?”
“Do you think I should?”
Dad folded the newspaper over itself and smoothed it down on the table. “I know better than to tell you what to do.”

Summary
When BJ’s number comes up for battalion aid, he prepares himself for an unpleasant, but hopefully brief, sojourn to the front. Unfortunately for him, the war has other plans.
BJ throws one hand on his helmet, desperately, clutching his bag to his chest. The explosions impacting behind them sound like the footsteps of a great giant, chasing its quarry into the Korean wilderness. His vision blurs as they bounce down the road, tyres grinding against rock, dust and dirt spraying in all directions. The sky glows around them, with burning orange blooms of light and heat.
Then, all of a sudden, everything is silent.

Summary
Hawkeye is institutionalized after returning to the states post the finale. While there, though with reason, doctors find out about his relationship(s) with other men and, as was typical for the 1950s, treat it as a mental illness. Torn between his feelings for Beej (who is back in California per their agreement), his relationship with his father, and not wanting to get electroshock, he fights for freedom and a future.
