It happened quickly, the kind of quick that you think is impossible until you live it. You hear about abductions, about parents turning away for a split-second and their children disappearing into thin air, and you think they must be justifying their own neglect. Surely, they must have not been watching close enough if someone could steal their kid out from under their nose. Of the two of them, Finney is sure his dad would be glad to see him go.
