Summary
After nearly two years of war between Zeus and Poseidon, Percy Jackson is living alone beneath a sky that seems determined to kill him.
On Olympus, the gods decide peace can be secured only by joining the warring houses through marriage. Neither Percy nor Artemis is asked. Neither is willing.
Percy arrives carrying wounds the gods have failed to see and a choice he has postponed for as long as he can. Artemis has spent millennia defending the right to remain unclaimed. Now both are expected to bear the cost of a war they did not begin.
The covenant may save the world. It may also destroy what remains of them.
Arc One follows the immediate aftermath of that decision: the council, the terms, the cost, the first attempts at survival, and the question of whether either of them can keep any part of themselves inside a peace built without their consent.
