After he mustered up the courage to ask the man out, he and Stephen had been in a wonderful relationship for a few months. Well, Tony wouldn't really call it a 'relationship', since the sorcerer barely had the time to meet up with him between dimension-hopping, learning incantations, meditating, training, or whatever it is he did with the other wizards. Often, Tony would wonder if Stephen was doing it on purpose; avoiding him, rejecting his offers for dates in excuse of other urgent matters, but it didn't stop the engineer's efforts to be as close as possible to him.
That last statement was proven tonight, where he stood in front of the Sanctum with flowers in hand. He meant it to be a surprise date, hoping Stephen would agree without objections.

Summary
King Stephen Strange’s kingdom had been at war as long as he can remember, locked in a battle between the fey, Stephen’s people, and the humans. The war almost ended with the union of Stephen’s parents, one fey and an omega human, that is, before they were killed in an attack. Stephen, now blooming into his early twenties, and still suspiciously unpresented, has taken it upon himself to meet the human’s king and put an end to the war ravaging his land, no matter what it takes… however it ends up taking a whole lot more than he expected.
When his meeting with the alpha prince Anthony spirals south, triggering Stephen’s first-ever heat and revealing him as an omega, King Howard of the Stark Kingdom sees it as a perfect opportunity to create a union between the humans and the fey through marriage. Anthony and Stephen struggle to get along, both unable to see past the inescapable bonds of their inevitable wedding. Stuck in a strange new world, Stephen is lost without a support network all while his entire identity and sense of self is turned upside down. In the meantime, something far larger and far more dangerous than a petty squabble over the union of a prince and a king brews in the background…

“But,” Tony continues as if he wasn't interrupted,“who am I to decline my own genius. So,” he turns lazily on his heel to suddenly face the doctor with a confident smile, “be my date.”
Or: Tony takes Stephen out on a surprisingly thoughtful date to convince him to come to a Stark Industries Gala. Stephen thinks it’ll be easy to go through the motions, but when Tony turns out to be genuinely considerate, he's not so sure. However, like everything else in Stephen’s unpredictable life, things go off the deep end when it turns out Tony hasn't been entirely truthful about his motives.
