Of fucking course. Sam thinks, the bag on his shoulder slipping and falling to the ground with a loud thunk. He stares at the king sized bed sitting like a bright neon sign in the middle of the room. He can almost hear the pulsed buzzing coming off of it as it blinks "You're severely fucked, mate" in bright red letters.
Rashid lets out a sigh behind him and pushes his own bag off to a corner.
"Well, we couldn't expect a full miracle when it comes to Raglan." The other shrugs, his mouth set into a neutral line. Sam wishes he could dip into his mind and see his thoughts exactly, to see if he was wigged out or just annoyed at Raglan. Probably the latter.

“In the festivities?” Sam asks, raising his eyebrows at the crowd of agents milling about, drinking and nibbling on appetisers. “Another trip around the sun hardly seems worth celebrating when the incessant turning is endless and inevitable.”
“I guess time moves differently when you’re a vampire,” Rashid says.
“Hmm.” Sam takes a sip of the drink he’s holding. Smells like mulled wine. Rashid watches the way it stains his lips red for a moment before he licks it away. Rashid’s throat goes a little dry.
“Bet you wish you could actually get drunk off that,” Rashid says.
Sam turns to him and gives him a look. It’s near impossible to read. It might be serious, but there might also be the slightest, faintest trace of mild amusement bubbling just below the surface. “Why? Because I’m Irish?”
Rashid nearly chokes on his tongue. “Oh… uh… wha… no… I—”
Then the loveliest thing happens. Sam laughs. He laughs, and he grabs Rashid’s upper arm and gives it a little squeeze. “Unclench, darlin’, I’m having you on.”

A familiar hand lands on his shoulder and Daniel looks up. And there he is; his maker, his companion, the love of his fucking life, smiling down at him, his eyes with their warm honey glow, his hair all soft and pretty. God, Daniel is so fucking pathetic for him.
“Did you request this song?” Daniel asks.
“Yes.” Armand smiles a little wider. “I know you think that it’s a bit trite and overdone but… it was our song before it became commandeered by ‘every other white guy in the late eighties and nineties’.”
“You know, it’s kinda hot when you quote me.”
Armand laughs and takes Daniel’s hand, pulling him to his feet.
“Come,” he says. “Will you dance with me?”
