Whenever John is injured during missions, it always goes the same way when he gets back. The team expresses concern and offers to help. He says he's fine and limps off to the medbay without another word. If they persist and try to help, he pushes them away and snaps at them until they leave.
But Bob hadn't tried yet. And Bob wanted to help.

“…Olivia’s out of town,” Walker says, sounding uncomfortable. “Can I get drunk?”
It sounds like he’s asking for Bucky’s permission to do so, which is weird beyond comprehension, but before Bucky can point out his choice of wording, Walker clarifies.
“Like, am I able to? Is that even a thing anymore? Or does being a super soldier mean I’m condemned to some bitter life of sobriety now? Because that would suck.”
“…Everclear,” Bucky says stiffly after yet a few more seconds of that same awkward silence. It’s starting to feel pretty unbearable. “Two or three bottles, maybe. As fast as you can comfortably drink it before your metabolism catches up.”
“Okay, cool,” Walker says, and the line goes dead with a click.
