The braver sort of witch would fall into step beside him and ask about Silver Eve, or push for earnest advice on their own personal contraptions - and show their appreciation by quietly asking him out for a drink. Handsome shopkeepers would lean forward across their counters full of wares and wink.
Qifrey witnessed these valiant attempts firsthand, often from steps away, as if he didn’t exist. He filed each exchange away, hands clasped neatly in front of him, his face a mask of mild politeness.

Olruggio will certainly not let her in if she knocks, since it’s late and Master Olly is especially exasperated about Agott’s tendency to all-nighters, but Agott needs this mentorship now. It’s probably best to invite herself in.
Probably. Worst case scenario, Olruggio is in the middle of something very important and bothering him topples the whole tower down and Professor Qifrey decides it’s vital that Agott be lectured about respecting space and private time. As if Agott doesn’t understand the concept! Just, sometimes things are emergencies.
Sometimes, one's lover's student needs someone to explain love to her, and that can't wait until after a deadline.

holy SHIT stayed up late to finish this and it was so worth it, one of the best fics i've ever read. masterfully clever writing, incredibly funny while also showing so much emotional depth - tucked away into small lines and threaded throughout. just so so beautifully written and paced well. leia's pov is perfect, acerbic and delightful and her personality shines through in every line. the last two lines took my breath away - SUCH a good ending. nostalgia hit me like a train.
soooo amazing, ugh.
