    Shen Qingqiu had been certain, the night before, as he’d let himself drift, that he would never wake again. Instead, he was awake. He could feel sunlight on his face. He had all his limbs, and the bed was soft, and there was no pain save, perhaps, the deep, pleasant burn of muscles well-exercised.

    And there was a hand touching him.


    After his death as Luo Binghe’s prisoner, the original Shen Qingqiu wakes up in Scum Villain’s universe, in the same body Shen Yuan trasmigrated into. A body Shen Yuan has not vacated.

    Faced with a world in which all it took for his sect to thrive, for Yue Qingyuan to live and for Luo Binghe to avoid turning into the scourge of the realms was for someone to take his place and live his life in his stead, Shen Jiu finds himself having to confront old hurts, his own accountability and the inevitability of human (and demonic) nature.

    Shen Yuan has had a push-and-pull relationship with Shen Qingqiu for years. Shen Yuan knows that Shen Qingqiu is meant to be a villain, but he knows just as well that many of the things Shen Qingqiu was accused of in Proud Immortal Demon Way were just shitty misunderstandings, and over the years Shen Yuan has become reluctantly fond of his Shizun.

    Abusing Luo Binghe was not a misunderstanding, though, and Shen Yuan will do whatever he can to correct the fact that he wasn't there to protect Luo Binghe when it happened.

    Shen Qingqiu has accepted that yes, this is a novel. And yes, it is going to have stupid plot points that he can (probably) do nothing about. His inevitable, horrible fate is his most probable future - but hey, it's at least a ways off yet, right?

    A Stallion novel has stupid tropes, but he's 100% - no, 1000% sure, that these aren't in the standard package.

    Could it be? Could it be that Shen Qingqiu was alive somewhere else, living in a body that looked similar to how he did before, but different enough to make him appear to be another person? The more Luo Binghe thinks about it, the more likely it seems, and the more he realizes that he might not need that corpse back. If Shizun has already found his own body, one even more powerful than before, then who is Binghe to try to change him?

    All he knows for now is that if it is Shizun, he can force him to come back. Shen Qingqiu has always been weak to his disciples, and Luo Binghe is confident that he can make Shizun want to return to him. He just needs a bit of time to prepare. He has to be ready.

    He will make sure that Shen Qingqiu finds his way back to him.

As a consequence the growth stagnated, and Shen Qingqui struggles with controlling the body, despite it being barely the size of a child. He wakes up to a dying world and tales of a mad demon king. But even helpless in his new body, he can’t help but wonder how he can save his former disciple from spiralling further into Xin Mo’s control.
