Waking up to find that five years have passed and the world continued to move on while he was stuck in time is not how Rosinante figured his little betrayal of Doflamingo was gonna go, and even then, waking up at all was a surprise.
Finding out Law is alive and well, even with a bounty on his head is enough for him to grab his title of Traitor and wear it with pride, all while hidding it under a cloak of "Justice."For his part, when Law receives a letter from a dead man what else is he supposed to do besides sob and answer?
AKA: The Marines were on the same island when Cora was dying, so what if the only reason Rosinante’s “silence” broke was because he passed out and then the Marines managed to reach him on time?

Zoro screwed his face up, as if he was thinking. Sanji resisted the urge to make a crack about how much work that was for him.
“I remember going over Reverse Mountain,” he said finally. “I think we were…yeah we had just arrived on Little Garden. And you owe me Cook ‘cause I caught the biggest dinosaur you have ever seen. So I won!” he finished triumphantly.
Sanji stared at him.

Rosinante tells himself the life of a pirate is worth it as long as he gets to be by Law’s side.
It doesn’t stop him from thinking about other options, though. Of other possibilities. Of settling down somewhere quiet in a town far away from the New world, to live out a life full of small moments that are no less important than what they accomplish aboard the Polar Tang. He wonders if Law would enjoy that life, or if he’s since convinced himself he needs to carry out his duties as a captain until his life is taken by the sea.
