Summary
After two years, Lucas returns, and Ten doesn't know what to do. Forgive him? Not an option. Hate him? He already tried. Try to be friends? They had too much going on for it to not be awkward, he didn't want to talk about it.
So... what about loving him again? Well... he never stopped. But he was too scared to try again. They were both too broken for that. They couldn't go back to what they were, because those people didn't exist anymore. That relationship broke down years ago, and the only thing left of them was their broken foundations. They can't repair it, they can't build a new relationship with them because it will fall again.
And what about starting over? Build new foundations, a new relationship with the people they were today?
Ten didn't know who Lucas was anymore. Getting to know him again, with the uncertainty of not knowing if he would leave again was too much for him to handle. Too much time, too much energy, too many fears. Ten wasn't ready for that, not yet.
