He doesn’t know what to expect since he barely ever allows himself to look directly at her, mainly because if he does his hands clam up and his mouth is a desert. She is looking at him, a little blush on her cheeks the only sign she is feeling just as embarrassed as him.
He expects her to say something, to make a joke, or to change the subject, anything to give him a way out of answering the question. She looks like the sun, he thinks, but he remains silent.
