Summary
For a strange moment, all Max could think was what it would feel like if he ran his fingers through those silky soft curls. He wondered if George would let him. Or would that end with his fingers bitten off? His next breath came out raspy, and only a little broken.
George reached out and wiped some of the icing off Max’s lips. Max’s face felt hot. He stared, unable to move a muscle, as George brought the same fingers to his own mouth, and licked them.
Max did his best to ignore the hint of arousal he felt at the movement. He thought of everything from lizards to noisy engines and Christian Horner’s entire personality. It didn’t do much to help. Nothing helped. His head was a mess of thoughts—George’s lips, his liquid brown eyes, the lingering impression of his hands.

Summary
The last time George was this surprised about anything, he was sitting frozen in Kimi’s living room as the Italian told him he was leaving F1.
Everything that happened after that has been predictable- Max becoming his new teammate, him and George falling out, crashing into each other, once, then twice, then three times in a row.
George even anticipated Toto losing his mind with rage.
He just didn’t expect him to be quite this mad.
Or. Max and George keep crashing into each other so Toto sends them on a mandatory two week holiday to Greece. It changes things.

And maybe Max had been ebbed of all chivalry since the day he'd had his first suit fitting— officially owning his title as a slave to the corporate ladder— or since the day George Russell had decided to come in and sweep the floor away with his eloquent, impractical floundering of vocabulary. Or since the day Russell had batted his obtrusively long eyelashes at him, begging him for notes in a lecture hall after running late for an hour. Or when George had bought him coffee afterwards as a thank you and left it at his seat.
Or since George had decided to storm into his life and wring every drop of Max's passions like a wet cloth— his internship, supposedly the hardest to obtain, now shared with Russell; his apartment, next door to Russell; his local supermart, also used by Russell. His future, whether he liked it or not, was intertwined with George's, and it wasn't up to choice.
OR: Max and George have been in proximity with each other their whole lives. But upon receiving new, prestigious internships in the same company, they find that things are starting to come full circle.
OR: Workplace AU where both of them are down bad and everyone else in their lives have to interfere just to get them to kiss

“Max seduced you?” Alex laughs incredulously. “Somehow I struggle to believe that.”
“Well he did. And now I think I’m kind of falling for him and I hate it. Help me.” George groans, lying back and sprawling out his limbs. It’s a little childish but he’s allowed to be dramatic about this- he’s falling in love with his rival.
“Okay, okay,” Alex soothes, probably sensing that George is about to go from playful theatrics to actual hysteria. “Well, do you think he might be developing feelings for you too?”
He thinks of staring at the outline of Max’s face as he said, ‘You could come find me. I’d look after you;’ he thinks of waking up in Max’s bed for the first time with the covers draped over his clean body; he thinks of Max’s firm, warm hand on his torso and ‘let me see you.’
And he nearly says yes.
Or. Max and George start hooking up in Qatar 2024. It's hate sex until it's not.
