Aerion sees Nysera as if she is some haunted relic from Old Valyria, little more than Dark Sister attached to her father's hip, or the garnet of Rhaenyra's necklace in the hollow basin of her own collarbones.
When he thinks of dragons born again, a red star bleeding in the sky, he thinks of Nysera too. A pale apparition at his side, bastard and beautiful.

Before he could say anything —which Duncan was a bit afraid to know— a black stallion rode by, stopping just a few meters away from them. On top of the gorgeous creature could be found a woman. A woman even more radiant than the horse. More radiant than any woman he had ever seen.
“Leave the man be, cousin” she spoke with voice as sweet as honey “He needs not to know of your words, so often cruel”
A Princess, she was a princess, of course she was. Her dark hair, gathered in a long braid, confused him for a moment, but Prince Baelor himself did not possess the typical traits of house Targaryen.
Her dark violet eyes found his and Dunk could do nothing but flush and avert his gaze.
“He claims to be a knight” the Prince looked at her and licked his lips “Which is proof that knighthood has fallen on sad days”
The Princess dismounted the stallion with ease and grace.
“As was your naming, Aerion. Now, leave him be”
Prince Aerion stared at her with his jaw clenched.
“As the Princess wishes” it was not a growl, but it was damn near to one.
