“John," Arthur's hand, quick as anything, catches John's strange face and turns him back to meet his unseeing eyes, sharp as steel. "I've told you, you are my friend in any form. I don't care how inhuman you are."

"But this is different. This is about a physical compatibility, Arthur, I-"

"John." Arthur gets his hand around the back of John’s head and pulls him down with surprising strength, lips falling warm against the cool porcelain skin of John's mask.

"If you were human, John Doe,” Arthur whispers against him, “your kiss wouldn't feel like that."

    Summary

Arthur –John– and Noel had been walking through the woods for at least an hour or two by now, and they were exhausted. They’ll feel even worse in a few hours once the adrenaline wears off from the ever lingering thought that some enemy was still out there looking for them, but Noel made sure that they were alone. He made sure that this little shack was far enough out from anywhere associated with the case.

    Summary

“I enjoyed dinner, by the way.” Arthur nipped at John’s mouth. Someone was still hungry.

“You—you did?” John placed his hand in the crook of Arthur’s neck, pulling him back closer. “I’m glad.” John’s voice was already raspy.

Arthur hummed, clouded eyes barely open as they darted between John’s eyes and mouth. “Despite how much you were playing footsie with me, I enjoyed myself.” He kissed him again. “Enjoyed the fact that you took the time–” a kiss, “and thought about me.”

New to AO3 (or even not so new)?  Have questions?  Dazed and confused?
...do your notes in chapter one stay stuck to the most recent last chapter? 😉
Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?
    Start here.

    🙂 DON'T PANIC ! 🙂

This is a beginner's guide / primer / introduction for readers and writers (possibly better titled “Guide to the Archives”, as someone suggested on Facebook — though that makes me feel like Virgil to some Dantean cerchio or bolgia, prompting me to think instead “Guìdo della archivio” [my 13-14c Genoan is a bit rusty, seriously, so I hope that I got that right]).  My later tutorials in this series cover somewhat more advanced stuff, but I've seen so many people (sometimes long-timers) in need of the basic stuff that I finally decided to write this.

One Stop Shop-'n'-Drop?  Not quite, but it explains a lot of things that you might not find easily (in some cases, not for years), or might assume work like some other site (which is a hit or miss assumption), and will point you to a number of resources.
