"Well, he looks just like you."
The knight and the bunny took offence to the statement simultaneously.
"Come on, 'Lua. How's he like me?" Lohen frowned.
Illuga blinked. "Do you not see it?"
    "See what?"
    "I mean--" Illuga gestured vaguely.
"No way." Lohen groaned, "hey, Aedon, you don't think I look like this idiot here too, do you?"
Aedon looked at Lohen, then Lohen the bunny, and then threw himself into Illuga's lamp.

Or: after Lohen left Nod Krai, Illuga adopted a bunny to cope with the loneliness. But there's one problem: he accidentally named the bunny Lohen and the bunny would not respond to any other name.

Lohen is certain that if Illuga would only hate him enough, he could finally be left alone long enough to kill himself properly. But Illuga refuses.

    Seven hundred thirty-four cranes.

Some were perfect—wings arched like they might take flight if the window opened. Others bore the scars of Gojo’s restless fingers: creases too sharp, necks bent at desperate angles. The most recent ones were folded from notebook margins and candy wrappers, as if he’d grown afraid of using proper origami paper.

Suguru would’ve hated that. "If you’re going to bargain with gods," he’d say, "at least use decent materials."

Gojo ran a finger down the spine of a crane made from a convenience store receipt. The ink had faded, but he could still read the date: March 3rd. The day Suguru stopped texting back as fast as he used to. And when he stopped adding his usual smiley face: “:]”

    Summary

Yuta breathes heavily as nausea swirls in the depths of his abdomen. The sound of his heart pounding beats his eardrums violently. His skull aches like there’s an iron band around it. Panic is rising rapidly, further accentuated by the lines of searing discomfort in the fleshiest part of his upper forearm that sloppily taped gauze can’t suppress.

There’s a muffled “...ustard leaf…” behind him. He swallows thickly. He can’t imagine the shuddering gasps that emerge every time his chest tenses are any less annoying for those around to hear. He shouldn’t expect to go unnoticed.

The tap on his upper back makes something in him jolt, but the sickening weight of tingling feet melding into the floor as if it were Theraputty makes him doubt his body is capable of translating it to a visible response. Yuta presses the bases of his palms against his eye sockets to counter the pressure building around his lachrymals again. Teary snot occludes his nose, so he forces a sharp inhale between his teeth. He doesn’t lift his head so much as tilts it vaguely to the left, barely unveiling one bloodshot eye.

    ---

    Yuta attempts.
