Alastor sighed. If only he could find Mr. Whittman… Why the Hell was this man never available? He can’t be that important just because he flashes a smile to cameras. Does he even have depth to his talks? He stays on the surface to appeal to everyone. He doesn’t have a real opinion to himself.
Someone stood next to him again. He was about to get really angry before he heard the voice. “Hello Mister?”
Alastor turned to him and for a second he didn’t know what to say. And he used to think that he was alone, someone with no equals at all. He was one of a kind. But there it was… Someone with the same hunger and anger in his eyes. He saw the same thing in the mirror every morning.
The man next to him smiled kindly. Holy shit this is Mr. Whittman.

“Alastor come on, shouldn’t you be happy? He won’t bother you anymore.” Charlie said.
“He wasn’t bothering me.” Alastor said as he became a more normal size. “He hated me and I hated him. It was perfect! You refuse to acknowledge it Charlie but love is not the only emotion that brings caring about someone. You have to care for someone to hate them too! He cared about me enough to hate me! I care about him enough to hate. But now? Now he doesn’t hate me. He won’t bother me. He doesn’t care enough! But I still hate him. I still care about him enough to hate. Where does that leave me? What am I now? He calls me Mister! Not my name, not my nickname, fucking Mister like I am someone who he stumble upon on his morning walk!
“He wants my attention? Well he fucking got it, congratulations!”

Summary
It has been twenty years. Twenty long years of no Vincent… Twenty long years of no Whittmans… Some nights, when he was getting drunk in the privacy of his home alone, Alastor would want to cry for what could’ve been. Some nights he’d get into his bed and try to remember how Vincent would used to touch him. Some nights he’d pray… Pray that the last twenty years were just some big mistake, a big old nightmare and he was going to wake up as that young and naive boy again in his childhood bed. No morning brought him his wish.

Alastor rolled his eyes and left. He hated this. This was his senior year, their deal was that Alastor would stay with Rosie until he graduated and live by her rules -so she could be sure that he grew up to be a true gentleman like his mom would’ve wanted- and then he’d be free to move out and live by himself like however he wanted. He could’ve been free! He could’ve been free to go back to Virginia, where he spent most of his childhood because his parents had to elope and run away from Louisiana. He could’ve gone back to his old house that he knew Rosie didn’t sell, he could’ve rode around the neighborhood, looking for certain people.
He didn't know the one he was looking for would be right across the cafeteria in that afternoon, sitting with his new boyfriend and acting like he didn't know him at all...

”You’d call everything off right now, just for this?”
Just for this, he says. As though it’s trivial. As though it isn’t everything that Vox has dreamt of every night for the past several decades. As though the rejection doesn’t sting just as sharply every time he wakes up and reaches to the other side of a cold bed, hands searching for a lover that will never be there, and hears callous laughter echoing in the back of his skull.
Vox sucks in a shaky breath, closing his eyes. He tilts his face downward, unable to look at Alastor when he admits it. He almost can’t bring himself to, sure that Alastor is already certain of the answer.
”Yes,” he whispers.
”You can’t be serious,” Alastor says quietly.

On yet another night of drinking with Allie, everything was going as usual for Vox. Taking care of a drunk Allie. Stopping her from causing a mess. Taking her home. And, as always, listening to all the nonsense that came out of her mouth when she was drunk.
It was part of their routine. Vox was used to it.
But when one of the silly things that slipped from Allie’s lips turned out to be a near-confession of love, Vox realized just how much the uncertainty surrounding their relationship had been affecting her.
With no idea what to do, she ran to Rosie for help. Rosie, being both kind-hearted and completely fed up with the two of them refusing to sort out their feelings, come up with a lie that gets Allie so emotionally overwhelmed that Vox finally has the chance to talk things through with her.
Naturally, Vox takes a little pleasure in the jealousy and possessiveness Allie shows along the way before the two of them finally put a label on their relationship. -
