Cloud flinches. He frantically scans Zack's face for any sign of a joke and, other than that persistent smile, he finds none. His eyes widen and his mouth drops open a fraction - though the only noise he's able to muster is an aborted whimper. His neck twitches to the side in denial. No way. Surely not. Surely even Zack knows that any more would be crazy.

He doesn’t know when he starts crying in earnest but at some point he must make a noise because Robby pulls off, looking at him with a satisfied smile.
His grip loosens just a bit and Dennis takes in a ragged breath, head clearing when he does.
“Breathe.” Robby’s command washes over him. He takes in another deep breath, lungs expanding gratefully as he does. He only gets the one before Robby tightens his hold again, pressure built from the clasp of Robby’s forefinger and thumb pressing against the base of his throat.
It’s addicting, being taken so far out of his head.

“You’re going to be alright, Cloud. Don’t panic. Don’t move.”
As if he could move. With eyes the size of a mustard seed, Cloud slowly glances over to his left, beyond his far reaches, where Zack stands. He’s near the edge, standing tall, firm, both of his hands held out as if to emphasize Cloud not to move. But he seems so far away. Even if there’s only 10 meters that separates them, it feels like 50.
The cold makes his nose sting. He feels it drip. He doesn’t dare move to wipe it away. If breathing deep made the ice crack then moving is definitely out of the question.
