Summary
Warlock couldn't help being a little underwhelmed by Soho. There was nothing there that really struck him.
Except that bookshop. That weird little street corner that didn’t match up at all with the bars and clubs all around it. That place was interesting. The paint was chipping, and the windows were too dusty to see through, but it felt… safe, sort of. A calm little patch of quiet at the center of London’s hustle and bustle. Something about it was… almost familiar.
In which Warlock thinks he's been abandoned, Crowley and Aziraphale think Warlock is dead, and they all find each other anyway.

Summary
"Hello, Crowley," said Aziraphale's voice.
Crowley spun--his angel was there, but not his angel--the kind blue of his eyes was lost in white radiance, and it burned. "No. Get out of him."

Summary
When Niko, working her way through the Dead Boy Detective Agency's entire extensive library, finds a way to banish David back to Hell once and for all, Crystal can't say no to her. It doesn't matter how much she doubts her own capabilities or if she doesn't really want to face David again. They need to get rid of him. For the agency. For Crystal herself.
Except David isn't interested in going quietly into that good night, and their carefully laid out banishment doesn't work. And Charles? Charles has never been interested in seeing his friends hurt. When David tries to pull Crystal through one of his portals, Charles takes her place. Now, while Niko hangs back at the office to come up with another solution to banish David, Crystal and Edwin have to track David down before he can destroy Charles' existence, send him back to Hell, and, oh yeah, turns out what they need might be genuine forgiveness from one of David's victims—aka, Crystal's old friends.

Summary
Something's wrong with Edwin. Crystal is trying to rebuild her life. Everyone is missing Niko. And Charles is trying to keep everything from falling apart. Into all this comes another bombshell: the cases that started it all, Edwin and Charles's deaths, might have started something else, too. Something darker. Something that threatens to break the Dead Boy Detective Agency altogether.

Let the record show that Crystal is full of good intentions, and it's not her fault that Edwin is as prickly as a porcupine and not even half as cute.

Summary
“Who do we have the pleasure of speaking with?” Edwin asked, formal as ever, even when addressing a woodland creature in a magical clearing.
“The Fox Queen,” the fox said.
Charles sighed softly and Crystal knew exactly what he was thinking: The last thing they needed was more animal royalty.
Or: The Dead Boy Detective Agency is back in London, back to solving cases, back to normal. Or as normal as it can get after Port Townsend upended their afterlives. In the middle of routine casework they discover that all across London, ghost children are going missing—vanished into thin air as if they never existed. If that weren’t enough trouble, rumors begin to spread around the Night Market that a group of Americans is looking for a ghost who has escaped hell.

Summary
“Charles,” Edwin said. Then, louder, when Charles only nodded in response, “Charles! I’m sorry. I—”
“Edwin, don’t. Don’t you dare—”
“I sincerely wish we could have been friends for longer,” he said.
Charles looked crushed before he’d even finished speaking. He tried to get a better hold on Edwin’s suit jacket, but he had no footing, dangling in the middle of the train as he was.
Edwin let go.
Or: When David the Demon opens a portal on the train in an attempt to escape being exorcised from Crystal, Edwin gets inadvertently dragged back to Hell, leaving Charles and Crystal behind.

Summary
“Alright, listen,” Charles said, after trying not to think at all for at least five minutes. “Hear me out.”
“Any ideas?” Edwin asked, not looking up from his page.
“It’s just. What would actually happen if you cut my hand off?”
Edwin jerked his head up so fast, Charles wondered that he didn’t brain himself against the stone wall. He looked more offended than he had when he found out about the live snake in Charles’ bag.
“What the hell kind of a question is that?” He hissed.
“I’m not saying we should do it!” Charles backpedaled. “I’m just curious! These cuffs make us proper solid, don’t they? We could probably lop it off and get me out.”
“No,” said Edwin emphatically. “We are not discussing this. I don’t want you getting any ideas and chewing your own arm off like a trapped weasel.”
“Not my whole arm, just my hand.”

Summary
We would like to offer you a gift, Edwin Payne, the entity says, and holds out its hand; Charles has to force himself to stay put and not step between it and Edwin, because it feels like danger, even if it shouldn’t. The entity wouldn’t hurt Edwin, he tells himself, and he knows it’s true, it’s just that it is so powerful that even the slightest touch is terrifying and Charles is terrified about losing Edwin all the time anyway.
“Why me?”, Edwin asks, head raised high and the entity’s light reflecting off his skin in a way that makes it look like porcelain, fragile and translucent and beautiful, “Why not Charles?”
There is nothing we could offer Charles Rowland to take his pain away, the entity says and its voice rings out in Charles’ head. But you, we could erase yours. If you wish us to.
Edwin gets the opportunity to go back in time and change his life so he will never have to go to Hell, but price of it is losing Charles; Charles can only stand next to him and wait for his decision.

Edwin rises and plants his palms decisively on the desk. "I've never truly committed to your many past attempts to whip me into shape, Charles, but I think I'm finally willing to try it. Genuinely."
Charles blinks, and struggles not to look too disbelieving. "Oh, really? … Brilliant."

Summary
Ironically enough, now that Crystal had her memories back, she had a whole new set ready that she was willing to trade away. Hey David, want to have this one of Edwin screaming on Esther fucking Finch’s table? What about this one of Charles chained up like a dog on the floor, iron searing his neck every time he moved? Oh, David, you’ll love this one. It’s Niko on the floor, all in pretty, impractical white, because Niko had never heard of the word practical. She’s spilling red across everything she touches because Niko is bleeding out, she’s dying. Crystal remembers the sheer bewilderment of that moment. Nothing bad was ever supposed to happen to Niko. Crystal had saved her from the dandelion sprites; she was supposed to stay saved.
She had not felt dead, in Crystal’s arms, even with all the blood.

Summary
“Fuck, Edwin,” Charles breathes. “You could’ve come got me, you know?”
Edwin doesn’t know what to say to that. He would be fine, soon. Not really worth bothering anybody. He just shakes his head and curls up tighter.
“You’re alright,” Charles says. He wraps an arm around him. Then his face changes, into something like determination, and he pushes Edwin’s head onto his shoulder. “You’re alright, mate.”Bookmarked by lightshiningforth

(title from the Hozier song because I'm creative and original)
“Come on, Eds. You can rest when we are back at the shop, promise. Just please wake up.”
Charles’s voice eeks with a barely contained tremor. His shaking of Edwin growing more frantic. But nothing. It was like Edwin was dead to the world… again.
Or
What if Edwin wasn't awake after Charles finds him after defeating Esther's snake? What if he doesn't wake up?
What if Crystal has to go into the mind of a ghost to get him out of his own mind? (Can she even read the mind of a ghost?)
