Rui e Haru se conheceram na academia de dança, quando ainda eram jovens. Rapidamente se tornaram o casal do momento, representando o grupo de dança que viajava o mundo em competições, ganhando várias delas juntos e se tornando modelos para quem gostava de sua expressão.
Com o tempo e com a idade, contudo, a dança foi se tornando um trabalho bem mais sério, com Rui dando aulas de ballet e Haru acompanhando o grupo, ainda que tivesse parado de dançar. Eles eram um casal bonito, mas depois de tantos anos juntos, não sabiam mais que tipo de casal eram, e tudo já havia caído na rotina.
Quando Haru viaja para os Estados Unidos e deixa Rui por uma semana, seu mundo vira de ponta cabeça ao conhecer Wumuti, um estudante de artes plásticas asiático que era encantador e galanteador na medida certa, além de trazer de volta à Haru um senso de jovialidade que ele tanto sentia falta.
