The woman who had approached her seemed more than annoyed now and without a single word, stormed out in flaming rage.
That was when she heard it. A soft, feminine giggle from her right. Vi’s grey eyes dragged themselves away from the door and towards the sound, only to find a rather pretty girl standing by the t-shirt section. Apparently she had witnessed the entire encounter because the playful grin she gave Vi was clearly telling her that she had enjoyed what she had just heard.

“You know, in a moment, it could all….poow! …Hmm. Best feeling in the world, kid”—the woman’s thumb playfully slides up and down her gun’s trigger—“the best goddamn feeling in the world.”
Isha looks to her side to avoid those vibrant, pink eyes, and finds multiple posters, all of them with the name of a woman who looks exactly like her savior.
Jinx.
The woman looks at the posters too. “Yep, that’s me. You ever need to curse a sibling or a family or a society…my card.”
Jinx walks away and puts her cloak on without looking back, disappearing into the green mist on the other side of the alleyway and still swinging around her gun.
Isha stumbles so quickly after Jinx she almost forgets her helmet.

Caitlyn fiddled with her headset, having finally found the green button on the side and hastily letting out a rather breathless reply. “Um, yes. Hello? This is Houston. I copy.”
There was a long pause in which Caitlyn sat twiddling her thumbs, anxiety pushing the frantic pulse of her heartbeat through her eardrums. Was that wrong? Did she already fuck up? She took a steady deep breath, finger hovering over the talk button until the familiar voice of the astronaut came through her headset once more.
“Damn, Houston. I didn’t expect you to sound so sexy.”

Vi looks at the big clock on the far wall. 7:46AM. She’s one minute late today. Every morning for the past six months - well, every morning Vi’s been on shift, so she’s just assuming about the other days - she’s passed by at exactly 7:45AM, always at a brisk walk, always in a perfectly-tailored suit, not a single long, silky-looking hair out of place.
7:47AM. The crisp clack of heeled boots on concrete pulls Vi out of her musings. There must have been some sort of emergency, because the subject of Vi’s (minor) obsession walks past the fire station at a faster clip than normal. Which is sort of saying something, because Mystery Woman’s got legs for days, long and slender, visibly toned with long, lean muscle through her suit pants. At the faster clip, Vi has less time to admire her ass and tiny, tiny waist as she walks by, but that’s fine, because the view as she leaves is fantastic.

Caitlyn's route to work as a detective at the 51st Precinct takes her right by Fire Station #516, and Vi's been pining after the gorgeous Mystery Woman for six months...what will happen when she finds out that Caitlyn's a cop (AKA: The Enemy)?

Caitlyn Kiramman doesn’t get butterflies. She never has, not really. The closest sensation has been the feeling right before pulling the trigger on a rifle–when the air is taught with anticipation, when every breath has to be measured. And still, it doesn’t compare to this. To seeing Vi in a white shirt and oversized boxers, standing at the foot of her bed and looking right at her—with those beautiful grey eyes, so soft now where they were once hard and untrusting.
Something shifted between them, somewhere along the way. Caitlyn can’t pinpoint exactly where or when, but she knows there is no going back. And it’s still all so simple, so innocent. It’s warm glances and soft touches and hugs that last a little too long to be platonic.

Caitlyn and Vi must wait until the morning to speak to the council, and so Vi ends up spending the night at the Kiramman's house.
