"But why, sir? You will be going home, soon. Why does it matter?"
Tim shrugged. "I can't help it. I have to know. I'm a detective. It's how he raised me."
Alfred's smile is sad, his eyes suddenly damp. "No, my boy. I believe you came to us that way all on your own."

Hal had all but crash landed in the Kent’s front field at about 2am, Clark’s previous invitation one he had nearly forgotten about until he found himself flying overhead and near-exhausted when a softly smiling face came up and told him to come down and get some damn sleep. The guest bed was a dream, cradling his tired body and pulling him into sleep in moments.
