Summary
Samira finds the strap in the closet. It's in one of the various camo print backpacks Jack seems to collect.
To be clear: It's not a gun. It's a strap-on.
She'd have expected a gun before this.
“What the fuck?” she whispers, astonished.

Summary
Hours later – after blood and guts and a life saved on the kind of Hail Mary that makes her brain sing – Jack Abbot turns towards her and grins. Arms folded across his body and his eyes more than a little bit wild; like the mess of it all thrills him the same way it thrills her. "I'd heard you were good, Mohan," he tells her easily, "but hoo-boy, was that something to watch."

Summary
“Samira,” Trinity steps forward, leans over Samira’s computer monitor. “You eloped with Doctor Abbot and no one knew you knew you had feelings for him-”
“Why do people keep saying that?”
-
Or: Samira had a plan to reveal to the ED that she and Jack eloped this week, but Brian Donnelley from HR had to go and screw it all up.Bookmarked by loozy

Summary
His face comes into focus then: hazel eyes watching her with an expression she doesn’t recognize, grey hair damp and curling.
“That’s it,” he says. “You with me?”
She nods, the movement slightly hindered by the hand still cupping her face. He leaves it there as he slides the other up to press two fingers to her carotid. She’s watched him perform miracles with these hands—has seen him blind cric a patient without an ounce of hesitation—but she realizes now that he is shaking.
---
Or: Samira gets the happy ending she deserves.

Summary
“Are you lonely, Jack?” She looks at him, the corner of her mouth quirking up into a smile that doesn’t touch her eyes. “Because I think I’ve spent the last few years pretending that I’m not and it’s the one thing I’ve. . .” A huff of a humorless laugh. “Failed spectacularly at.”
Jack frowns, deep enough to feel his forehead creasing. “You’re too hard on yourself.”
She tilts her head, the smile the same. “You didn’t answer my question.”
Jack has made it a point in his life to never lie to Samira, and he’s done a damn good job of it. He is many things, but a liar is not one of them—save for the rare occasion where a lie could change someone’s life. When it comes to Samira, he has no secrets. After all, it’s not lying if she’s never asked him, specifically, about his feelings for her, so there’s never a reason to brandish that particular truth. He’s pretty good at finding loopholes, too.
So he doesn’t lie to her now. “Yeah. I am.”

So, because the 9-1-1 pages didn’t think enough to include Bobby in their Father’s Day post (not that I’m surprised 🙄), I took it upon myself to write this Father’s Day fic for our beloved Captain Bobby Nash! I hope you all enjoy 💛

Summary
Samira has long known that being friends with Robby is a character flaw. It had just never seemed so damning until now. It itched at her inion whenever Jack stared at her from across the ED. She pushed it away when he emailed case studies, because he was the only person not related to her who emailed her at all. She ignored it because she liked the way his callused hands brushed against the soft skin of her inner thighs and how his warm tongue felt heavy in her mouth. She craved the goosebump tingle that seemed to pulse at every nerve ending, at every millimeter of skin, whenever Jack’s attention focused solely on her at the end of a long day.

Summary
“Hey.”
Samira’s shoulders drop at the familiar voice, and despite the fatigue tugging her down and the horror of whatever the fuck is in her hair, a smile creeps onto her face. She turns to look at Jack, walking from the door over to her with his arms crossed over his chest.
The company is the only good part of a night shift, in her opinion.

Summary
"You want me," Jack said slowly, "to film you at your worst. As a deterrent."
"Exactly."
"For a hypothetical future pregnancy you're already planning to talk yourself out of."
"Yes."
He stared at her for a long moment.
Then he pulled out his phone.
The way he did it — one-handed, that small focused expression settling into his jaw — she thought, with total despair: this is the problem. This is the fucking problem.a.k.a. Dr. Samira Mohan is going to want to do this again.

Summary
She’s standing by the Hub, chatting with Dana, when Jack steps out of the exam room next to the bathroom. His mind immediately lights up. Samira Mohan is pregnant, and no one here knows.
“There he is,” Dana says as she catches sight of him. “We were just talking about you.”
Samira raises her brows, and he wants to kiss her right here in the middle of the bullpen. He doesn’t, of course, but he wants to, and Samira seems to know what he’s thinking because she shakes her head, half-grinning. “About me?” He asks.
“About house hunting,” Samira clarifies. “And your total aversion to fixer-uppers.”
“You can buy houses that are already fixed up,” Jack says. He is a grown man. He makes a good salary as an attending physician. Jack is not interested in being his own contractor. He’s not in Ortho.

Summary
“You’re fuckin’ thirty, you have just turned thirty, twelve hours ago,” he says incredulously. “You’ve still got your whole life ahead of you.”
“But I haven’t done anything!” she exclaims dramatically, gesturing with her glass hard enough that water splashes onto the table.
“You’re months away from finishing your residency,” Jack points out dryly as he reaches over to rescue the glass from her hand entirely. “And you had a paper published in The Lancet. I’d say those count as pretty significant achievements.”
Samira rolls her eyes at him again, like he’s deliberately missing the point.
“But I haven’t done anything else!”
Or—Samira kicks off her thirtieth birthday party with an existential crisis.
