Summary
November, 1989: Two years after Vecna’s defeat and the implosion of the Upside Down, and six months after the kid’s graduation, Steve Harrington might finally be settling in. He’s got a great new girlfriend, a place in Forest Hills, and a job he loves coaching a team of middle schoolers in the fine art of baseball.
He couldn’t ask for much more, not after all the shit he’s been through in the last six years. Really, it’s the life he’s always wanted…
But then there’s these military spooks showing up at his door, asking way too many questions about the familiar yet impossible voice he’s been hearing in the woods. For the life of him, Steve can’t figure out if it’s bad karma, dumb luck, or fate.

Summary
As Steve changes for the better, he realizes how harshly he's misjudged Eddie over the years. The two start an unusual friendship one day, Steve determined to make sure Eddie graduates, and Eddie just seemingly happy to have someone who cares. However, that friendship leaves Steve questioning everything he is, and Eddie starts to question what Steve really gets up to with his little nuggets.
Unfortunately, even Steve can't protect Eddie from the Upside Down, and he's no longer the one who's changed.
But is it for better, or for worse?
Alternatively: What if Eddie and Steve were friends before season 4 and the Kas Eddie! theory was real in season 5?

Summary
Steve had just put the stove on to prepare a canned dinner and cracked open a cold one out of the fridge, when he heard a knock at the door.
Assuming it was Wayne, he opened it without thinking.
"Oh…"
It wasn't Wayne.
It was a serious looking woman with two men behind her that looked suspiciously like those bodyguards he knew from the Hawkins lab.
"Steve Harrington?"
"Eh…yes? That's me."
"I am Sergeant Melissa Roland. From the Department fo Energy. May we come in?" it didn't sound like a question.
Department of Energy. The Lab.
Oh.

Steve Harrington was living his laid back life in the Forest Hills Trailer Park, teaching young shitheads and visiting the party at college whenever he could.
Life was good. Kind of.
Even when some people were missing.
And with that he didn't mean the military people that payed him a visit in the middle of the night.Bookmarked by lucephobicc

Summary
“I haven’t really been to a wedding where I’ve, uh… let loose. But, hey,” Dennis shrugged, “maybe I’m doing it wrong.”
“If I hadn’t already agreed to go to this conference, I’d offer to go with you,” Robby said casually. “Show you how it’s done. I’ve got a good track record as a plus-one, too.” Dennis had to say something. To interrupt. To shut this down. But what was he supposed to say? No, you can’t be my plus one, because I lied about my cousin, and there is no wedding, and it seems a little weird to bring a date to a fucking funeral– “Apparently parents love it when you bring home a doctor.”
And just like that, the bubble popped.
“I’m not gay,” Dennis snapped.
He had never hated the sound of his own voice as much as he did right then.
---
Or, Dennis is anxiously headed home for a "wedding" in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the details of which are increasingly fuzzy. Robby's got a medical conference in Omaha that same weekend. So they carpool. Seventeen hours both ways in an enclosed space with no way out except a tuck and roll. This'll go great.- Language:
