Chell is used to GLaDOS’ bizarre experimentations, by now. She’s been in the faculty for what feels like an eternity, crawled her way out only to be dragged back in..
She’s been nearly put to death an uncountable number of times, been forced to use dangerous and questionable objects and fluids to aid her in GLaDOS’ experiments…
Today should, by all means, not be any different.
And yet it is.
It is, because of how she feels GLaDOS’ presence hovering over her, when she wakes, compared to the simple presence of a camera in the corner. It is, because she has never before been bound like this, with her legs splayed to the sides and her wrists bound by the sides of her head…. Never been bound upon waking, nor even in any of her time in the faculty at all. Always she has only ever been trapped, never bound…
… It is, because of what GLaDOS says to her, when the super computer finally realises that she is awake.
“Remember when I said I knew how humans made more humans?”
